If you are celebrating communion with us from home, you’re in good company! When Jesus first modeled communion, He also did it in someone’s home. If you’re a Jesus follower, you can take communion just about anywhere.
Preparing your heart.
But a man must examine himself, and then let him eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 1 Corinthians 11:28
We encourage you to do some self-examination to prepare your hearts and mind for Communion.
- Spend time in prayer.
- Practice confession.
- Renew your commitment.
Prepare the elements.
Jesus and His followers used wine and unleavened bread, but it’s simplest to use grape juice and whatever bread or crackers you have available. What’s important is focusing on the meaning of this spiritual symbol. We created a list of a few ways to prepare your elements:
- Drive-thru on Saturday from 10-12 to pick up the prepackaged elements we will be using in-person on Sunday.
- Make homemade bread. Click the image for the recipe of the bread we traditionally serve during our communion services.
- Go out to the store this week to pick up bread or crackers and juice. Or collect whatever you have on hand.
