Mask Statement

Mask Statement

In response to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases and to honor the updated Pennsylvania order we are issuing this statement on masks at Manheim BIC Church. We desire to seek the welfare of our church family and local community (Jer 29:7) by supporting the local officials, leaders, and our neighbors in slowing the spread.

We also know that the connection time with God in corporate worship is life-giving and helpful to the continued spiritual and mental well-being of our community. So, for us to continue to do so, it is on each of us to be extra diligent in doing our part to help protect others. First and foremost, let’s be a praying church. Prayer is a powerful answer, not a passive response. Let’s continue to pray for all those dealing with this illness and those working on the front lines.

Effective November 23, 2020, our campus is moving from mask optional to mask strongly encouraged.

As you plan for joining us for the service that best fits your family there are a few things we would like everyone to know:

  • If you join us for worship without a mask, you will not be turned away, no questions asked. While we are called to submit to our governing authorities (Rom 13), the church’s role in society is not to be enforcers. We want to give everyone the freedom to manage their health and their family’s health responsibly, as well as look out for the wellbeing of those around them in the community, especially the vulnerable.
  • All volunteer leaders have also been asked to wear a mask while they serve in our ministry areas.
  • The Assembly’s seating currently allows for social distancing between households, please remember to respect others and allow for at least 2 seats between households unless otherwise agreed upon.
  • We are praying and hoping that we can make a difference through prayer, social distancing where possible, wearing a mask, washing hands, and staying home if you are experiencing symptoms or have been in contact with anyone having symptoms.
