Children’s Ministry Volunteers

So many of us have been influenced and encouraged by others who were willing to invest in our lives. Mentors. Teachers. Coaches. Sunday School teachers. They helped us establish a strong foundation for who we would become today, how we see the world and live within it. I’m sure you can easily think of a name or picture a face. What you may not know is how rewarding it is for many of those who choose to pour into the lives of others.

We have a whole next generation of kids who need to know intimately the love of God in their lives and learn to share it with those around them. To build a strong foundation of faith that will become a compass as they navigate their future. It truly takes a village, a community of people unified by the good news of Jesus who are willing to step up to love and serve others.

Can you imagine the impact in our community, our world if we all came alongside someone else to help them initiate and nurture a growing relationship with Christ?

HE CALLED A LITTLE CHILD TO HIM, AND PLACED THE CHILD AMONG THEM.  WHOEVER WELCOMES ONE SUCH CHILD IN MY NAME WELCOMES ME.  Matthew 18:2&5

I’ve said to my kids for a long time “You might be the only Jesus that someone gets to meet.” So it’s about making those connections – it’s not just about how you serve, even if you’re serving the snack or if you cut out the craft it is another face and another connection to Christ that they see.

Nurturing little ones is like a caterpillar morphing into a butterfly. Just seeing them fly away into futures of their own is really rewarding.

VOLUNTEER ROLES

We are inviting you to be a part of this committed community, the ones who are willing to serve out of the overflow of love and grace they each have received. As you read through the below descriptions, pray and be open to a potential opportunity for you.

I started volunteering because of a Francis Chan quote I heard on a podcast that said “We are called to more than just consuming, we are called to serve and give back.” The mindset behind serving is not that we HAVE to serve, but that we GET to serve. In CM it looks like dancing crazy, getting to see their excitement as you’re singing songs. It’s not always glamorous but I GET to do this and it really is such a blessing and we have a lot of fun.

Assistants: Youth or Adults 13+, clearances required
Volunteers who are not committed to a specific Sunday of the month to serve. They are contacted by the CM staff to fill in when there are known absences that arise prior to a Sunday or Wednesday program. Although flexibility is helpful, substitutes can request preferred classes to serve in.

On-call Volunteers
Who: Adults 18+, clearances required
This is a new volunteer role. An on-call volunteer is regularly scheduled and commits to showing up on their scheduled Sunday(s) to serve. Upon arrival, he/she will report to the South Check-in volunteer that they are an On-call volunteer. If the CM staff determines that there are no openings to fill, the volunteer is notified and released. On-call volunteers must be very flexible and willing to help with any age.

Are you ready to make a difference?

The reason I volunteer is because of all the amazing volunteers I’ve had. They inspired me to be a leader, give back, and be blessed to see kids grow.

BUT AS FOR YOU, CONTINUE IN WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED AND HAVE FIRMLY BELIEVED, KNOWING FROM WHOM YOU LEARNED IT AND HOW FROM CHILDHOOD YOU HAVE BEEN ACQUAINTED WITH THE SACRED WRITINGS, WHICH ARE ABLE TO MAKE YOU WISE FOR SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS.  2 Timothy 3:14-15
