Dear Church Family –
Here are two updates on our transition that I shared in the services on Sunday 12/8/2019.
First, our pastoral staff has done an excellent job of leading us on Sunday mornings during our time of transition. To ensure that ALL ministries continue to flourish during this transitional season and that we do not overload our current staff, we are in communication with a possible interim teaching pastor for early 2020. This person would preach 2 Sundays a month as well as be available for some weekday pastoral duties and staff support.
Secondly, I want to share with you where we are at in the pastoral search process. By the end of October Leadership Board, under the guidance of Bishop Bryan Hoke, completed all first interviews with our candidates. As well as reviewed the candidates Theological Profile, spiritual journey essays, responses to questions and messages.
We then narrowed down our candidate list and invited those, along with their spouse, for a second interview. After those interviews, we then determined to move forward in the process with one candidate. This candidate then interviewed with key staff persons from our church. Once Leadership Board completes final discussions on this candidate we will then determine if we will offer the position to this candidate.
Leadership Board is asking that our church family join with us in a focused time of prayer; specifically requesting wisdom, discernment, clarity, peace, and unity surrounding this decision.
If you have any questions or comments please contact myself or any person serving on Leadership Board.
Thank you,
Lisa McCoy, Chair of Leadership Board
