Worship through giving.
Will you partner with us as we respond to the critical needs of our community as we face the coming weeks together?
For Discussion
Worldwide we are now all in the same boat. Health crisis. Lockdowns. Uncertain future. To mention just a few. Pastor Bryce reminded us that this is not the first time that humans face such times of uncertainty. Noah was not sure what the future would look like, but he trusted that in the midst of everything God was present. Even though the disciples didn’t have the right picture of what was to come, Jesus was able to face his dreadful future, because He had assurance of who His Father was.
As you wait for what the future weeks and months might bring, is your focus on the potential fight ahead, or on embracing the peace available in the room? Here is a reminder from last week’s scripture:
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:7 (ESV)
Here are two exercises that hopefully set you up for some “peace of mind” in times like these:
- Read Isaiah 40:31 and ask yourself: How does “actively waiting on the Lord” look like? Ask your kids what waiting on God is? You might be surprised how simple it might be. Then look for 2-3 PRACTICAL things you can do this coming week that displays waiting and trusting in God.
- After the flood was over, Noah built an altar, as a reminder of God’s continued provision. Get the crafts out -or the scrapbooking stuff- and build/create something that will always remind you of God’s presence. Then place it in your living room or in the kitchen, a place where you will see it frequently. If you have family in your home, make it a community project. Then share a picture of your project with us! Email, tag us on social media @manheimbic and use #mbicathome.
May God remind you day in and day out of HIS presence, in midst of this adversity. May the peace of God fill your hearts and minds.
May God bless you all!
