Group Discussion & Life Challenge

Use these notes as discussion prompts for your group, or in your personal time with God.

Connect:

Get to know each other. Connect, warm up to each other, fellowship.

Care:

Carry each other’s burdens. Share life’s challenges and practice Soul Care. Pray together.

Challenge:

1. Do you remember an invitation that you received that stands out above all the others? God ahead and share one and maybe an invitation that you received that you immediately knew you had to be there. Why did they stand out? Why were they so important?

2. Invitations that are personal and precious are usually the ones that come with deep relationships or come with a lot of effort and thought. Read together Revelations 3:20 and share your thoughts on this invitation? Is it something you have thought about as an invite? Is there another scripture that comes to mind that illustrates this invitation?

3. Take some time to share how you have seen this invitation ignored or accepted in our world today.

4. Matthew 28:16 We receive this command to continue the work of inviting others to the table with Jesus. Why might it be hard for us to extend the invite to others? Do you see this as a job for all believers or just some believers, why?

5. Romans 12:1-2 Describes a movement from “Invited to Invested” Take some time as a group to discuss what that phrase means and why this movement matters.

6. Share with each other What kind of adjustment you see God calling you to this week, in light of this Co mission that we are called to. Can you name even just one thing?

Clarify:

Does anyone need clarity on something? Are there any big God questions you are wrestling with?

Celebrate:
Celebrate life’s successes and God’s provision. Worship God’s presence. Time to brag about God.

Through the Bible in one Year

Join us in reading through the entire Bible in one year. Each day of this plan guides you through passages from both the Old and New Testaments, allowing you to see connections between the history of our faith, and the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. Readings average four chapters in length, so it is posible to do. When you use the YouVersion Bible App, you can even have the app read the Bible text to you – very useful when you are in the car or otherwise occupied with your hand.

All you need to do is click the link to the Bible Plan, which should lead you straight to the Bible app. Your two options are now (1) to read the plan on your own, one day at the time. Or (2) you can make it more fun and rewarding, by sharing the plan with one or more friends, and then even “Talk about it”.
