UPDATED 3/26: Our Response to COVID-19

3/26 UPDATE:
Following Manheim Central’s current closures along with the recommendations from the state capital:

Our facilities will remain closed until further notice for all events and programs.

Ministry at MBIC continues, our teams have been working hard to create ways for our Church to stay together and on mission during these very unique times. As we look ahead to Easter, hope is rising as we anticipate God doing great things in these next few days and weeks. As He has done before He shall do again.

“And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.” – 2 Cor 1:10

Be sure to take advantage of the resources and stay connected, and if you need help please don’t hesitate to ask.

MBIC Leadership has been carefully monitoring national, state and local data and recommendations surrounding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic while also consulting with our own public health professionals in our congregation. We have made the difficult decision that:

Starting Sunday, March 15, ALL meetings and gatherings at Manheim BIC Church are suspended for the next two weeks.

While we are called to meet together, we are also called to care deeply for one another, our neighbors and our community.  State and local leadership have encouraged us to do all we can to help keep the transmission rates down by limiting social interaction, so that’s what we desire to do. In accordance with these recommendations,  ALL gatherings and meetings at MBIC are suspended starting Sunday, March 15 through Sunday, March 29. As we have more information, we keep you posted!

What About Pastor Bryce’s installATION, planned for March 15th?
We are postponing the installment until April so that we can have everyone involved and come together as a family to remember and celebrate God leading us forward together.

What about Services on Sunday?
We are going to have service, right here online. We are working on that right now and the team is very excited to have a time of worship, prayer, and a message. We will have more info on this very soon so keep an eye out!

Why do we fear this Virus?
“God did not give us a Spirit to Fear but of love power and of a sound mind.” – 2 Tim 1:17
We recognize there are several ways to look at this, but having listened to many perspectives we are convinced that our response here is one of love for others and not a response of fear. Our desire is to be walking in unity with the leadership that has been appointed in government and serving the community by stopping the spread of something potentially harmful.

There are many times where there is opposition or life is uncomfortable for some reason outside of our control, but there has always been equal or more opportunity in the midst of it for God to be glorified.

So the question to each of us today is, how will God get glorified in these days ahead through my personal response to what is happening the world?

We’ll keep talking and discerning together as we plan out the next several weeks. It certainly will be incredible to meet back together as a congregation.

Love God, Love Others.
