Reset the Mission

Reset the Mission

Study Guide:

This week wraps up our RESET sermon series and pastor Bryce challenged us to re-evaluate the mission we are on, a mission that is directly connected with the mission of God. But before we can Reset our Mission we need to be reminded of HIS mission. God loved the world so much that He gave his Son, Jesus so that everyone who believes in Him will not be lost but saved. God’s love for us is unimaginably big.
1. Now, we sometimes get distracted from this love. Worries, busy life, riches, or poverty draw occupy minds and we lose focus. HE still loves us but we can’t see it. What can you do, on a daily basis, that reminds you of his love for you? Is it that letter that Bryce suggested you write about Jesus and then read back to yourself? Is it a worship song that you put on? Or is it a hike in the beautiful creation of God?
Take some time today and RE-SET your foundation on the love of God.
2. God’s mission becomes our mission when we realize that not everyone has this joy and hope that we have through knowing HIM. What are you going to do about it? Take out three index cards. On each card, write down one name of a person who doesn’t seem to know of God’s love or has lost sight of it. Underneath the name write down the circumstances of that person. On the other side of the card, write down how God’s love could bring hope and peace into that particular person.
3. The third step follows the previous: Witness to that person. Talk about God’s love. About His grace and forgiveness. Talk about his guidance. Talk about the peace the can fill a heart when we turn to Him. Or, make the love of God visible. Bake a cake for that person. Help in the yard. Wash the car. Fix something you see needs fixing. Offer your help. Make it your mission to help that person know God’s love.
When we re-set our lives onto God’s foundation, our relationships, priorities, and mission align. But it is on us to first fix our focus on God. Jesus invites you and me to “Follow him” (Mt 4:19), to “abide in him” (Jn 15), and the to go on a mission with him (Mt 28:18-20). Let’s push the reset button and be aligned with His mission

Through the Bible in one Year

Join us in reading through the entire Bible in one year. Each day of this plan guides you through passages from both the Old and New Testaments, allowing you to see connections between the history of our faith, and the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. Readings average four chapters in length, so it is posible to do. When you use the YouVersion Bible App, you can even have the app read the Bible text to you – very useful when you are in the car or otherwise occupied with your hand.

All you need to do is click the link to the Bible Plan, which should lead you straight to the Bible app. Your two options are now (1) to read the plan on your own, one day at the time. Or (2) you can make it more fun and rewarding, by sharing the plan with one or more friends, and then even “Talk about it”.
