Group Discussion & Life Challenge

Use these notes as discussion prompts for your group, or in your personal time with God.

Connect:

Get to know each other. Connect, warm up to each other, fellowship.

Care:

Carry each other’s burdens. Share life’s challenges and practice Soul Care. Pray together.

Challenge:

1) To kick offthis study, share one life hack that you have learned recently that you want to share with the group. You could up the game by sharing a life hack that you learned in scripture. If you can not think of any, just take a minute to outline what a life hack is and the connection to Proverbs. You can use one of the life hack series outlines (the book that was given out on Sunday)

2) Discuss the importance of Proverbs for believers today? Why do we need to pay attention to the wisdom in this poetic book?

3) What cautions are given in Proverbs 1 in terms of life’s goals or successes? What encouragement was given?

4) Take one minute of your time together to write down a list of life goals and desired successes and share them with the group. What wise steps can you take today to help you get there, even if they do not yield immediate results?

5) One life hack to begin this series discussing would be what will help you hold fast to this decision to follow God’s wisdom and not pursue earthly things or as Proverbs calls it “Folly”

Life Hack 1) Praise God for the wisdom that is given in every situation, celebrate God giving us a choice and sharing with us His ways that lead to success.

Clarify:

Does anyone need clarity on something? Are there any big God questions you are wrestling with?

Celebrate:
Celebrate life’s successes and God’s provision. Worship God’s presence. Time to brag about God.

Through the Bible in one Year

Join us in reading through the entire Bible in one year. Each day of this plan guides you through passages from both the Old and New Testaments, allowing you to see connections between the history of our faith, and the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. Readings average four chapters in length, so it is posible to do. When you use the YouVersion Bible App, you can even have the app read the Bible text to you – very useful when you are in the car or otherwise occupied with your hand.

All you need to do is click the link to the Bible Plan, which should lead you straight to the Bible app. Your two options are now (1) to read the plan on your own, one day at the time. Or (2) you can make it more fun and rewarding, by sharing the plan with one or more friends, and then even “Talk about it”.
