With – Week 3

Study Guide:

Our highest calling is to be connected with God. This is the key sentence of today’s sermon and should be the key sentence for our life.

In life, we face uncertainties, challenges, and have questions. In times like these, it is important to be connected WITH God. Pastor Bryce showed us that he has three approaches for his walk with God:

  1. Seeking clarity to know GOD more, instead of just knowing more
  2. Seeking clarity to see God MOVE, instead of just moving the problem
  3. Seeking clarity to move THROUGH life WITH God, instead of just walking alone.

God encourages us to connect with Him, and He promises to be with us as we move through life and situations. So, let’s make finding clarity with God practical:

How do you seek to know God more? What are your habits to know God (more)? Is it Bible reading? Is it listening to a sermon? Is it solitude? What is it? Share with your group, how you seek God and how it helps you know HIM more.

How often do/did you see God MOVE? When was the last time you saw God in action? Matt & Judy Zook told us their story. Share with your groups what your last experience with God was.

How do you move through any situation WITH God? Paul gives us some clues on how to do it in God’s way. Read Phil. 4:4-9 and Gal 5:22-25. What are the key action words in these texts? Underline them and write a definition for each one of them. What does it mean to do . . .     Here is an example:

Key action word: whatever is TRUE (Phil 4:8)

Definition: God wants me to pursue things that are truthful. Speak the truth. Be true to Him and others.

As your final step, collect items of thanksgiving. Use the things that you jotted down in the second task above. Share with your group what God has done in your life, . . . in the last couple weeks, in the last couple months, or even in the last couple years.

Our highest calling is to be connected with God. The 5Cs help us connect with God, find care in God, walk with God through challenges, find clarity in the moves with God, and celebrate what God does.

Let God be the center of your life and HE will lead you through anything and everything.

Through the Bible in one Year

Join us in reading through the entire Bible in one year. Each day of this plan guides you through passages from both the Old and New Testaments, allowing you to see connections between the history of our faith, and the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. Readings average four chapters in length, so it is posible to do. When you use the YouVersion Bible App, you can even have the app read the Bible text to you – very useful when you are in the car or otherwise occupied with your hand.

All you need to do is click the link to the Bible Plan, which should lead you straight to the Bible app. Your two options are now (1) to read the plan on your own, one day at the time. Or (2) you can make it more fun and rewarding, by sharing the plan with one or more friends, and then even “Talk about it”.
