Challenge:

1) After you have had some time to read through the scripture for today, – As a group, make a list of Idols that would be common in today’s world? And discuss what they have in common.

2) Discuss how you navigate the pressures around conforming to the patterns of the world, what are they and what does that look like right now for you and or your family?

3) Do you think it was a lot different for Daniel and the guys in Babylon? Why? Why not?

4) What do you do that is a devoted part of your life that you think helps you live in Babylon but not conform to babylon?

5) What other Scriptures come to mind as you consider devoting your life to God and not giving in to Idol worship? Feel free to share how these scriptures help.

6) Can you share your – “Even if God does not … He is still God” how is that helpful to think about and how is that challenging you this week to live differently?

Clarify:

Does anyone need clarity on something? Are there any big God questions you are wrestling with?

Celebrate:

Through the Bible in one Year

Join us in reading through the entire Bible in one year. Each day of this plan guides you through passages from both the Old and New Testaments, allowing you to see connections between the history of our faith, and the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. Readings average four chapters in length, so it is posible to do. When you use the YouVersion Bible App, you can even have the app read the Bible text to you – very useful when you are in the car or otherwise occupied with your hand.

All you need to do is click the link to the Bible Plan, which should lead you straight to the Bible app. Your two options are now (1) to read the plan on your own, one day at the time. Or (2) you can make it more fun and rewarding, by sharing the plan with one or more friends, and then even “Talk about it”.
