Prayer & Praise. This week’s sermon helped us to focus on God as the creator of the universe. Pastors Shannon Kane helped us to look at the awesomeness of the God who holds everything together. And he reminded us that through Jesus Christ we have access to this amazing God. Not just access, but the privilege of being adopted by God.
Pastor Shannon says that “Prayer positions me for a perspective of praise!”. He then goes on to talk about being adopted into God’s family. He used the example of the Roman adoption custom to explain the principle. This is most likely what Paul had in mind when he talked about being adopted by God.

One of the things that King David was known for was his relationship with God and the way he put praise into words. The Book of Psalms is full of sings and poems of praise. On the back of this pamphlet, you will find Psalm 19. Take a few minutes and underline everything in this Psalm that helps you move into a position of praise and worship. Share with your group which verse stands out to you the most, and why.
One of the things that we have learned from this week’s sermon is really that praise comes almost automatically when we focus on God. Just contemplating on what HE has done is reason enough to start praising Him. We encourage you to time to think about God’s greatness as often as you can. Because prayer really does position us for a perspective of praise.
